Dear SPHC Garage Committee:
I very much appreciate the many responses I've gotten
regarding my recent correspondence. I'd like to address
some of the more contentious claims that were made
regarding my findings and my intentions.
Several of you were angered by my messages, claiming
that I was spreading rumors or trying to discrediting
the Board. I am doing neither. There ARE irregularities
in the waiting list. The facts that two people were
left off the list and that #12 received a spot before
#s 2, 6, 9 and 11 amount to irregularities. That said,
I have not suggested that any of you is engaged in
any sort of malicious or underhanded activity. My
stand is simply that the process that produced the
irregularities is obviously flawed and bears scrutiny.
Do you really think I am wrong to raise these issues?
One of you pointed out that Board Members were approachable
and that I don't need to publish my letters on SPBuzz.org.
To this I would like to point out that my message
went to Mr. Friedland before being published on-line,
and even after being published, it took a second email
that was copied to all Board Members before I got
a response. It simply seems that I wouldn't get a
response without the weight of SPBuzz.org behind me.
I am writing about a very big issue in our community
and am doing it in the only way that is sure to get
a substantive response. Do you really hold that against
me?
My actions and responses are very caring and sensitive.
I gave Mr. Friedland time to reply before publishing
my letter, I never accused anyone of any underhanded
actions, I didn't publish any information about people
on the waiting list on my website, and I even declined
to publish some correspondence from Board Members
that might make them look bad. If you think that I
have malicious intentions, then you simply have forgotten
what it is like to be a mere Shareholder witnessing
reason-defying information coming out of the Boardroom.
With this message, I reiterate my request to review
and verify Garage Waiting List data - what spots became
available, who got those spots, when those spots were
assigned, and any paper trail that exists with regard
to the irregularities. Whether the management of the
Garage Waiting List is under control or not, I think
you should give me the benefit of the doubt on this.
My investigation can only lead to transparency, efficiency,
communication and improved process. I pledge to conduct
such an audit with due consideration and respect towards
those who enabled it.
Sincerely,
Dan Strum
